I have been coaching kid’s hockey for probably 16-17 years. I feel like I have been pretty good at building relationships with kids and families, so that I can understand what happens with them on and off the ice. 6 months ago I had a conversation with a family whose kid was diagnosed with dyslexia, and they mentioned the Sopel Foundation. Since then, we have been able to help multiple kids on my team with various different things they go through, and how to best support each kid. After speaking with Brent for so many times, I have started identifying when kids have dyslexia and how to best help them on the ice, and help families outside of the ice. Thank you for making a difference in the world!
